GFMD 2018 Civil Society Days – Apply Now

APPLY TO ATTEND THE GLOBAL FORUM ON MIGRATION AND DEVELOPMENT 2018
Dear civil society friends and colleagues,

We are very happy to announce that applications for this year’s Civil Society programme of the Global Forum on Migration and Development are open

The programme of the GFMD Civil Society Days (CSD) will take place this year in Marrakesh, Morocco during the first week of December. This year, the CSD programme will centre around the expected adoption of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, and the question ‘What now and what next?’ for civil society working at all levels in the field of migration and development – and for migrants themselves – in this changing landscape of global migration governance.

Please note that there are two separate civil society applications processes – one for national, regional and thematic networks that work on migration and development issues, and one for individual civil society organisations.

Important: All civil society organisations and networks who want to attend the GFMD Civil Society Days must apply using these forms. To find out which application process you should apply through, as well as other critical information, please read the Concept and FAQs for the application process carefully before applying:

Find the FAQs online, and here in English Spanish I French

Deadline for all applications: 31 August.

All applicants will know by September whether they have been selected to participate. Observers, including from governments and international organisations will be invited separately in the coming months to join civil society participants for parts of the programme.

Please note that civil society participation in the the Inter-governmental Conference to Adopt the Global Compact for Migration, which takes place in Marrakesh from 10-11 December, is NOT through this GFMD application process. Please see more information, including how to register for the separate United Nations-organised Conference here.

If you have any questions, please first consult the 2018 Concept and FAQs for the GFMD Civil Society Days application process (English I Spanish I French ). Keep an eye also on our website – www.madenetwork.org/civil-society-days-2018 – as more information will be uploaded there soon.

Warm regards,

  1. Free movement within Continental Africa is much more key to the promotion of Free intra-African Trade. Africans have to be able to move first before being able to freely trade with each other. Free movement will improve the percentage contribution of African trade to the global trade volume.
